Nico Gaitan has undergone and passed a medical ahead of his move to Atletico Madrid, reports say.
The Benfica winger is said by AS to have been through the process in Buenos Aires and with no problems detected, is just a few days away from his switch to Vicente Calderon being confirmed.
Atleti are however waiting until after the Champions League Final, on May 28, to announce the transfer, as they don’t want to take attention away from the game with Real Madrid.
Gaitan is preparing for this year’s Copa America, to be held in the United States, with the Argentina national team and underwent medical tests with the squad, the results being relayed back to Atleti.
Gaitan has publically insisted he hasn’t signed for any team but did confirm he had played his last game for Benfica.
