Malaga secure Camacho ownership

Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani has announced that Malaga have purchased the entirety of Ignacio Camacho’s economic rights.

Malaga sold 55% of Camacho to a Panamian investment fund two years ago, but Al Thani was delighted to confirm his side had recouped all of the midfielder’s ownership.

“Camacho is now 100% owned by Malaga and we want him to remain an important part of our club,” the President said at a Press conference on Thursday.

Although the deal does not necessarily keep the 26-year-old at La Rosaleda, it has nonetheless strengthened the club’s bargaining position and no longer obliges them to sell the player this summer for €12m.

Camacho has made over 150 appearances for Malaga since joining from Atletico Madrid in January 2011.
