Granada boss Jose Gonzalez was gracious in his side’s 3-0 defeat to Barcelona as the Spanish champions “proved to be the best team in the world”.
Barca maintained their grip on La Liga for a second straight season after victory at Los Carmenes, and Gonzalez was happy to confess that his team were brushed aside by a team he ranked as the finest on the globe.
“The season ends for us on a bittersweet note as we close the season with a defeat after having achieved safety,” the Coach said after the game.
“Barcelona showed their power in the first half, they didn’t let us move or counter.
“In the second half we were more daring and changed our system, but we were unable to make it count on the scoreboard.
“Barca showed what they’re capable of and were superior at all times in the game. We lost a lot of possession to them.
“Barcelona are the most deserving League winners and have proved to be the best team in the world.
“[On his future, amidst talk of a Chinese takeover], there’s currently tremendous uncertainty at the club…”
