Jokin Aperribay has revealed that Real Sociedad have held talks with Juanmi over bringing the Southampton striker back to Spain.
Juanmi [pictured, left] joined Southampton from Malaga last summer in a reported €7m deal but has failed to score in 15 appearances for the Premier League club, prompting speculation that the 22-year-old is unhappy on the South Coast.
“There have been discussions between the club [La Real] and the player. We’ll see if [these discussions] bear fruit,” the President told AS at his club’s training base in Hernani.
Aperribay also confirmed La Real were negotiating with the investment fund that owns the rights to goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, while asserting that Carlos Vela and Jonathas would stay over the summer and praising Inigo Martinez for signing a new contract.
