Ronaldo: If it was the final…

Cristiano Ronaldo says he’d have made the Real Madrid side if it was the Champions League Final after missing the semi first leg.

Ronaldo was ruled out with what Marca reports is a new problem, not the same one that saw him unavailable for the weekend’s win over Rayo Vallecano, failing a fitness test before the game against Manchester City.

“It’s sensible. I’ll wait. If it was a final, I would have played,” he told reporters prior to kick-off at the Etihad Stadium, Marca says.

There’s also a report that Ronaldo might be a question mark for next week’s second leg, as well as the weekend’s forthcoming game against Real Sociedad.

Ronaldo will have further tests when he returns to Madrid with the team, but it’s suggested the problem will only further damage the relationship between the forward and Madrid’s doctor, Jesus Olmo, which was already strained.
