Line-ups: Man City-Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo is not in Real Madrid’s squad for the Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester City.

Ronaldo suffered a thigh strain in training last week and didn’t feature as Los Blancos won at Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, though Zinedine Zidane said at his pre-match Press conference that he expected the Portuguese to be fully fit. However, Ronaldo reportedly failed a pre-match fitness test and doesn’t make the 18.

Jese Rodriguez got the nod against Rayo but it’s Lucas Vazquez who starts at the Etihad Stadium, alongside Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, the France international having also been a doubt.

Keylor Navas continues in goal and Dani Carvajal, Pepe, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo make up the back four, with Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos starting in midfield.

The home side go with Joe Hart in goal and have captain Vincent Kompany fit to partner ex-Valencia man Nico Otamendi, with Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy either side of the defence.

Former Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure isn’t fit so the midfield pairing features Fernando and Fernandinho, with Spain internationals Jesus Navas and David Silva joining Kevin De Bruyne in supporting Sergio Aguero, previously of Atletico Madrid.
