Ronaldo & Benzema in squad for City

Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have been included in Real Madrid’s squad for their Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester City.

Marca claims neither Ronaldo nor Benzema trained with the rest of the team on Sunday, but the pair have travelled to Manchester as Zinedine Zidane names a full-strength party, plus Castilla striker Borja Mayoral.

The Portuguese had missed the 3-2 win at Rayo Vallecano on Saturday with a hamstring strain, while the No 9 was hauled off with a suspected knee injury in the first half at Vallecas.

The referee for the first leg is Turkish official Cuneyt Cakir, who presided over Madrid’s 2-0 win at Malmo in the group stage, although his most notable Blancos match came against Manchester United in the 2012-13 last 16, when he controversially sent off Nani in a 2-1 win for the capital club.

Madrid squad for City in full: Navas, Casilla, Yanez; Pepe, Ramos, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa, Danilo; Kroos, James, Casemiro, Kovacic, Modric, Isco; Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale, Vazquez, Jese, Mayoral
