Sevilla’s search for a right-sided midfielder has landed on Standard Liege’s Mathieu Dossevi, reports claim.
AS cites L’Equipe as saying Monchi is keen on the Togo international as he can play on the right wing or in a more central role.
Dossevi, 28, had been on loan at Standard from Olympiacos before the Belgians made the switch permanent in January.
It’s noted, however, that Sevilla could face competition from Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough, who are seeking promotion to the Premier League.
Sevilla are said to be still looking for a replacement for Aleix Vidal, who was sold to Barcelona in 2015, as neither Gael Kakuta nor Diogo Figueiras impressed in the position.
Dossevi’s contract with Standard runs until 2020, having cost €1.3m to make his move from Greece permanent.
