Barcelona are said to be waiting on Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels to decide his future with his contract expiring in 2017.
AS cites reports from German publication Bild that say the Catalans are ‘very interested’ in the centre-back, who has been linked with Barca on and off for a significant period of time.
Hummels’ Dortmund deal comes to an end next summer and he is facing a decision whether to extend and stay with his current club or seek a move at the end of this season.
Barca’s international sporting director, Ariedo Braida, is said to have watched Dortmund more than once, with Hummels part of the reason.
Hummels might, however, get offers from Arsenal and Manchester United that would be more lucrative, but it’s felt his partner would prefer to live in Spain, and that could decide Hummels’ next step.
