Reported Real Madrid target Jose Mourinho “can almost guarantee” that he will return to management this summer – but only “where I’m truly wanted”.
Speculation on Friday claimed Madrid would make a sensational approach for Mourinho, providing the club were eliminated from the Champions League next week, and he made it clear he was ready to begin a new project without giving any clues as to the identity of his next club.
“I can almost guarantee you that I'll be back working this summer,” the Coach, who has also been linked with Manchester United, said at a Press conference in Lisbon, the Mirror reports.
“I’ve good offers on the table. At the end of the season we’ll know where my future lies. I want to be at a place where I’m truly wanted.
“I want to work at a club with responsibility, in a hard League, where there’re no easy objectives, that don’t leave many options.
“I’ve had the possibility to go to the gym almost every day and read the newspapers.
“I enjoyed immensely the first two months [of being out of the job], the third month a little less and now I’m dying to get back to work.”
Mourinho spent three years at Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning a Copa del Rey in his first season and La Liga the following campaign.
