Simeone unhappy with Filipe?

Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone was reportedly unhappy with Filipe Luis’ comments after the Champions League defeat to Barcelona.

Filipe alleged Barca are ‘protected’ after seeing Fernando Torres sent off in the first half, having given Atleti the lead, and Luis Suarez, who scored both of Barca’s comeback goals, escape punishment despite a couple of incidents.

Mundo Deportivo reports via Cadena COPE that Cholo told Filipe to be ‘smarter’ with what he said to the Press as it can affect the team in the return leg – if the defender is banned by UEFA, for example.

Cadena COPE also reports Torres ‘tearfully apologised’ to his teammates after the final whistle, as he felt responsible for Atleti giving up their lead after he was dismissed.

Torres tweeted similar sentiments and reportedly asked for his peers to give full effort in the return leg in what will be a full Vicente Calderon.
