Wolfsburg captain Diego Benaglio enjoyed the win over Real Madrid but is wary of the return leg at Santiago Bernabeu.
The Bundesliga side saw off Los Blancos with two first half goals and the goalkeeper commended his teammates, but warned of the return next week.
“This game is likely to be remembered,” he said, German publication Kicker reports.
“We brought a good team performance to the pitch. Of course we are happy with the result, but we know what’s waiting for us in Madrid.”
Teammate Julian Draxler echoed his skipper’s sentiments, insisting that Wolfsburg aren’t taking qualification for granted.
“We played very well. We were very aggressive…but we know there is still a second leg,” the midfielder noted.
