Enrique: Torres? Two clear cards

Luis Enrique believes Fernando Torres was rightly sent off as Barcelona came from behind to beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Torres opened the scoring in the quarter-final first leg but was sent off inside the first half for two bookings, a right call, Enrique told reporters, but noted the team you support will affect your opinion on the decision.

“I’ve seen it like all Barca fans. Clearly two cards. You can be a bit naïve but that’s how we’ve seen it,” he said, AS reports.

“Everyone sees it as the colours they wear. You can’t change what the referee saw. Everyone defends different colours.

“I think we should appreciate how difficult it is to play against Atletico, who can press high and then fall back. You need accuracy and fluency and we lacked that.

“The game changes with the sending off. We circulated the ball at speed. The second half went great. It’s difficult with 10 men.”

Enrique also commented on the returning Rafinha, who came off the bench for a first appearance since September.

“We thought we wouldn’t have him all year after his injury in Rome. The medical services are at the level of the players,” Lucho noted.

“Rafa is a special player who has a goal in him and controls the ball. He’s lacking a little but he can help us.”
