Isco: Madrid over Juve

Isco has played down talk that he could join Juventus in the summer as “I’m very happy at Real Madrid and I want to see out my contract”.

The midfielder has rotated with James Rodriguez in Los Blancos’ XI this season, but neither player has been able to prove deserving of regular football, prompting speculation the former was eyeing a summer switch to the Italian champions.

However, when asked about Juve after Spain’s goalless draw with Romania on Sunday, Isco said: “I’m very happy at Madrid and I want to see out the remaining two years on my contract.

“We must vindicate ourselves on Saturday against Barcelona after the bad image that we gave at the Bernabeu.

“I’ll be at my best for the Clasico. I haven’t played much, but I’m not jaded.

“Winning at Camp Nou would be a great morale booster.

“It’s been a very difficult season and I don’t think that everything is my or James’ fault.

“I was angry with myself after [my substitution] against Las Palmas, but I don’t think I was the first player to have done that.

“We must ensure no-one forgets about us. We’re still alive and one of the teams who can win the Champions League.”
