Charly Musonda believes he made the “perfect” move by joining Real Betis on loan from Chelsea in January.
Musonda has made a positive impression at Betis since arriving on transfer-deadline day, helping himself to a goal and an assist in eight appearances, and but he insists he was never afraid of leaving Chelsea for a potential relegation scrap in La Liga.
“I started playing football at Anderlecht and grew up there, so the club will always be in my heart,” he told Voetbal Nieuws.
“Still, I’ve always said that going to Chelsea was the most important step of my career. I’ve received incredible training there.
“I needed minutes to keep growing, so I had to leave Chelsea, and I did so at the perfect time.
“It’s going well, but I’m not surprised. This is what I expected, but I still have my feet on the ground. I face things as they come.”
