Barca want Gameiro, Laporte?

Barcelona reportedly want a striker with La Liga experience next season, possibly Sevilla’s Kevin Gameiro, and Aymeric Laporte could be an option in defence.

Mundo Deportivo reports technical director Ariedo Braida is working on transfer targets and Luis Enrique was to see his front line bolstered.

A centre-back is also on the list and Barca have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos, Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte and Villarreal’s Mateo Musacchio.

Marca meanwhile say Pep Guardiola has targeted Laporte as one of his first signings at Manchester City, with €50m mentioned as the fee, and Isco also said to be a target.

The centre-back is the player who the club will spend the most on so the striker will be a cheaper alternative, with Gameiro said to meet the profile of what La Blaugrana are looking for.

Gameiro has a release clause of €40m, however, and Villarreal’s Cedric Bakambu has also been watched when Barca have checked up on Denis Suarez.

Nolito, a long-term target of Enrique, is also mentioned, and he would cost the club €18m.

Valencia’s Santi Mina, Deportivo La Coruna’s Lucas Perez, Sporting Gijon’s former Barca starlet Antonio Sanabria, on loan from Roma, and Atletico Madrid’s Luciano Vietto are also touted, though Vietto is regarded as ‘impossible.’
