Navas ‘working for Madrid stay’

Keylor Navas isn’t sure if he’s in the best form of his career but says he’s ‘working hard to remain at Real Madrid.’

Navas was approached by AS at Madrid’s Barajas airport as he made his way to Costa Rica for international duty, and was asked about his recent performances.

“I’m working hard to stay at Madrid. I don’t know if I’m in the best form of my career,” he replied.

“I’m good, very calm. I’m happy for the trust the coaching staff is showing in me this year. I’ve worked hard to prove I can play here.”

Navas will face Barcelona when he returns from international duty and looked ahead to the Clasico.

“The two teams go into [the game] at a high level. We both want to win. There are important games in the Champions League and this game can give us confidence and more desire,” he noted.

“[Winning the title] is complicated but we have to fight to the end. We can’t lower our arms at any time.”
