Aritz Aduriz is set to be called up to the Spain squad on Friday for friendlies against Italy and Romania as doubts persist over Diego Costa.
According to Marca, Aduriz has scored his way into the Spain reckoning, despite his 35 years, and will be given a late audition for Euro 2016.
However, as one striker comes in, one could be heading out, with Costa’s place under threat after his controversial performance in Chelsea’s FA Cup defeat to Everton last weekend.
The former Atletico Madrid man appeared to plant a bite on Gareth Barry’s neck, before being sent off and allegedly making an offensive gesture to Everton supporters on his way down the tunnel.
Doubts over Costa’s temperament are furthered by his recent muscle problems and disappointing return of one goal in 10 caps.
