Atletico Madrid match-winner Juanfran credited Diego Simeone after PSV Eindhoven were knocked out of the Champions League.
Juanfran scored the decisive spot kick after both legs of the Round of 16 tie finished goalless, Luciano Narsingh missing for the Dutch side after an epic shootout.
“The knockout last year was a heart attack and even more this year,” Juanfran acknowledged, AS reports, after Atletico’s second shootout win in 12 months.
“Look at the people cheering. That speaks highly of the team. Our Coach makes us believe. Heart and soul is our hallmark.
“It was a difficult tie. They also wanted to go through. Nobody gives you anything. We were cold-blooded on the penalties.
“The referee? The English let you play. He was phenomenal and I have nothing to say.
“Next? I don’t want a Spanish team. Whoever it is will be very strong.”
