Auba reiterates Madrid ‘promise’

Reported Real Madrid target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reiterated the promise he made to his grandfather that “one day I’d play in Spain”.

The Borussia Dortmund striker has been heavily linked with Los Blancos in recent weeks, the latest batch of reports in Spain claiming a €100m deal had been agreed between the two clubs, and he again refused to rule out a move as he cited a conversation with his Avila-based grandparent.

“PSG? It’s not my objective, and I can’t say anything else,” he told BeIN Sports.

“I don’t know why I’d return to France if I left three years ago.

“Real Madrid? There’s no agreement, but … I promised my grandfather one day that I’d play [in Spain].

“Why shouldn’t I discover other things? As I said several times, I’d like to play in Spain.”
