Borussia deny Madrid-Aubameyang deal

Borussia Dortmund have categorically denied a deal has been agreed for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to move to Real Madrid this summer.

A report in German publication Express claims the Gabon international, who has been in prolific scoring form for the Bundesliga outfit since joining from Saint-Etienne in July 2013, will move to the Santiago Bernabeu for a fee of €100m.

However, Borussia sporting director Michael Zorc moved quickly to dismiss the story and claims talk of a switch to the Spanish giants is just that.

“It’s stupid, there is no agreement in place,” Zorc told Bild.

Aubameyang himself recently confessed in an interview with L’Equipe that his childhood dream was to play for Real Madrid.

“In 2014 I promised my grandfather, who was from Avila, that I was going to play there,” admitted the 26-year-old.

“It will be complicated but it is in my head. When I was a child I saw Hugo Sanchez in videos and the backflip I sometimes do when I score is really a tribute to him.

“Real Madrid, or any other great Spanish club, would also be a great gift to my mother Margarita.”
