Celta monitoring Lopez situation

Celta Vigo are said to be keeping an eye on Diego Lopez’s Milan situation but the goalkeeper’s wages could be a problem.

AS reports Celta are considering Lopez for next season and with the former Real Madrid custodian having lost his place at San Siro to teenager Gianluigi Donnarumma, he is thought to be keen to return to Spain.

But any move to Balaidos would be complicated by the €4m-a-year he receives from Milan, likely out of Celta’s reach.

Lopez is contracted to the Rossoneri until 2018 but could agree a release to enable him to find regular football at 34.

Deportivo La Coruna are also said to be watching but Celta could likely offer European football next season, and Lopez’s wife is from Arcade, close to Vigo.
