‘Even Barca aren’t as good away!’

Unai Emery claimed “even Barcelona are much stronger at home than away” after Sevilla’s winless away form continued at Getafe on Saturday.

Emi Buendia struck late to cancel out Ever Banega’s opener at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, in turn condemning the Andalucians to a ninth draw away from home in La Liga and yet another missed opportunity for a first win, and the Coach did his best to justify the side’s failings on their travels.

“If we score near the end, we have to know how to suffer in the last few minutes,” he said after the game.

“We have to keep improving so all these draws away from home become victories.

“A small detail can swing the momentum to us, but it’s not happening [away from home].

“We have to seek alternative solutions, so the balance can swayed in our favour.

“We added [another point], but one point isn’t enough, so we’ll continue on our way.

“[On Villarreal losing], we don’t look at anyone else, we only look at ourselves.

“We can’t be aware of what we can’t control. We’ll secure more opportunities.

“Now we have the match against Basel, which excites me, and then Villarreal, which is the continuation of what happened in the League [on Saturday].

“The team aren’t as strong as they are at home [in away games], and that ultimately results in us suffering.

“Even Barcelona are much stronger at home than away.

“It’s true that it’s proving very difficult for us to maintain balance and consistency [away], but we have nine draws away from home and that penalises us.

“Still, we’re optimistic. We have dreams [of success] in three competitions, which feed our credibility.

“Of course, the League is what gives you your name and surname.”
