Lucas Vazquez insisted “no-one can doubt” Cristiano Ronaldo after his goalscoring exploits in Real Madrid’s 7-1 thrashing of Celta Vigo on Saturday.
Ronaldo scored four goals, including two wonder strikes from distance, to surpass Telmo Zarra as La Liga’s second all-time top scorer – a week after he appeared to criticise his Madrid teammates for their lack of quality.
“No-one can doubt Cristiano. [On Saturday] he scored four goals and we congratulate him,” the winger said after the game.
“We knew it was going to be a very difficult game against a team who play very good football.
“We had chances to go more than 1-0 up in the first half, but we were very strong in the first 10, 15 minutes of the second half and could’ve scored two or three more goals to solve game sooner.
“We have a very good bunch of fans who always supports us, and [Saturday] was another example of that. We’re very grateful.”
