Marcelino says Villarreal are banking on their five remaining home games in La Liga ahead of Saturday’s first against Las Palmas.
The Yellow Submarine can move 12 points clear in fourth and just one behind third-placed Real Madrid with victory over the resurgent islanders at El Madrigal, but the Coach is expecting a “close” game in the vein of Los Blancos’ midweek trip to Levante.
“They are three very important points,” he said at a Press conference.
“We have five home games left and they’re very important for us to achieve [fourth].
“Any victory that we achieve now will be a step forward in keeping fourth and approaching third.
“Still, Las Palmas will be difficult because all games are.
“The top teams are scraping wins against those lesser, like [when Real] Madrid [beat Levante] 3-1 in injury time, in what was a close game.
“If that happens to Madrid or Barca, it’ll be closer for us.”
