Cristiano Ronaldo admits this season has been “difficult” for Real Madrid but responds “I’m almost always at the same level” to suggestions of poor form.
Los Blancos will fall back to 12 points behind pace-setters Barcelona in La Liga if the Catalans beat Rayo Vallecano on Thursday, but the forward is remaining confident about his side’s prospects in 2015-16, despite the furore generated by his recent remarks about the team.
“It’s been a difficult season, but we’re still in the Champions League and very excited about it,” he was quoted as saying by Marca at Madrid-Barajas airport on Thursday.
“It’s no coincidence that Real Madrid are the team with the most European Cups.
“Nothing has been lost and we’ll continue working hard in order to achieve things at the end of the season.
“I’m almost always at the same level [in terms of form] and my plan for the future is to continue this way with Real Madrid and make my fans happy.”
