Las Palmas Coach Quique Setien was delighted with his team’s display in thrashing relegation rivals Getafe.
The islanders ran out 4-0 winners and Setien suggested the result was so good it could guarantee safety at the end of the season.
“I didn’t expected such a big win. We were very effective,” the club’s official website quotes the trainer as saying.
“The truth is we haven’t had such a resounding victory. With the difficulty scoring we sometimes have, to score four is great and to equal the opponent’s goal average could mean staying up, you never know. We deserved the victory and I’m very happy.”
Setien did acknowledge injuries to Mubarak Wakaso and Pedro Bigas, with tests needed in coming days, and the 400th Primera appearance for Juan Valeron.
“Valeron has 400 games in La Liga and I congratulate him. It’s wonderful to watch him play,” Setien said.
