Real Madrid favourite Michel has praised Barcelona and Lionel Messi, admitting he doesn’t know how the forward produces such a high level.
Michel was speaking to Onda Cero and also admitted he’d like to coach Madrid, but praised his former Madrid teammate Luis Enrique for his Camp Nou success.
“I’m not surprised how well he’s doing,” Michel said, Sport reports.
“He’s in love with football, he works with dedication, he likes it and he’s got a group of players at a high level.
“I remember in November people doubted him. Now he’s one of the best Coaches in the world.
“This is the team Pep Guardiola had and the machinery that helped has been perfected by Enrique. They don’t go unnoticed.
“I don’t want them to win but we have to recognise they play well. They’re structured and well-organised.”
Regarding Messi, Michel acknowledged the quality of players around the Argentine but commended the group for their teamwork.
“I don’t know how it’s possible Messi always plays well. [It’s true that] he is surrounded by every player who is very good. They’re all one,” Michel noted.
“Look at the extra-curricular trouble at Barca, but the team keeps winning.”
