‘Villarreal-Napoli is 50-50’

Villarreal Coach Marcelino believes the Europa League tie with Napoli is in the balance before a ball has been kicked.

The Yellow Submarine host the Serie A side in Thursday’s first leg and Marcelino is wary of the team who, until last weekend, were top of the table in Italy.

“Napoli are a great team who are demonstrating a high competitive level and they’re one of the strongest opponents in the competition,” he warned, Marca reports.

“But we don’t consider ourselves inferior. We’ll see who has been inferior after two games.

“I don’t think [losing to Juventus] affects them. They knew they could lose to Juve and I’m sure that game will be removed from the analysis. I watched the game and they didn’t deserve to lose.

“I don’t think they’ll be adversely affected because this is a different competition.

“The tie is 50-50. [The objective is] to get a positive result to win the tie. It will be decided in the details.”
