Unai Emery dismissed as speculation a link to Atletico Madrid and discussed where the Copa del Rey Final should be held.
“This is speculation. I’ll return to reality. I’m very happy at Sevilla,” Emery insisted when the topic was raised at a pre-Molde Press conference, Marca reports.
The site of the Copa del Rey Final has been under consideration, with Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernebau suggested, but Los Blancos appeared hesitant to have Barcelona in their ground and a Bruce Springsteen tour date now presents a clash anyway.
“The most important thing is that all Sevilla fans who want to enjoy that day can do so, so a location with the most fans,” Emery acknowledged.
“Madrid is ideal. If not the Bernabeu, then at Vicente Calderon. What I don’t want to do is go to Camp Nou, which gives considerable advantage to Barcelona.
“For that we could have it at [Seville’s Olympic Stadium] or our stadium, Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. I say that about Barca because there is a precedent, from last year.”
