‘Valencia offer was attractive…’

Pedro Mosquera admits to being tempted by Valencia but is sure he might the right choice in staying at Deportivo La Coruna.

Valencia attempted to trigger Mosquera’s recession clause late in the winter transfer window only for the midfielder to reject the move and renew at Riazor.

“Valencia’s offer was attractive economically and at a football level because they have the potential to grow,” Mosquera acknowledged, AS reports.

“Things are going well at Deportivo. We’re calm and we have to keep working. I have confidence in the project and the club.

“The conversation with [Depor Coach Victor Sanchez] had a lot to do with [staying] because of the money difference and you need to hear from others outside yourself and your family.

“We reached an agreement relatively quickly and it’s important that I’m here, happy.

“The fans have treated me great. There were all kinds of messages, people asking me to stay, others saying they’d understand, and some who said if they saw me in the street…”
