Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte has denied suggesting that he would reject an offer from Barcelona.
Laporte is reported to have told Telefoot on Sunday night that he would rebuff Barca's advances in the event they tried to sign him, but he has now accused the Spanish Press of misinterpreting his remarks to the football programme.
"At no time did I declare the statements which have been published by different media outlets," he told AS.
"The only thing I said was that I'd run the rule over an offer as one must first exist and then you analyse it.
"In any case, any offer would have to go through my club."
The 21-year-old, who has yet to confirm his international allegiance to France or Spain, agreed a €50m release clause upon extending his contract with Athletic until 2019 last summer.
