Three more Atletico players to China?

Fernando Torres, Gabi and Tiago Mendes could all follow Jackson Martinez out of Atletico Madrid and to China, it’s reported.

Marca says the trio each have offers to go to Asia but aren’t expected to do so yet, even though the transfer window in China is open to February 26.

Torres is said to be the nearest to making the move as his loan deal at Vicente Calderon ends in the summer and it appears Atletico won’t pick him up permanently when his Milan contract ends at the same time, even though he wants to stay at his first club.

The striker does though have offers from across the world, not just China but the United States, the UAE and Japan, but it is the China offer that pays the best.

Indeed, should Torres take the offer from China, he would become one of the world’s highest-paid players.

Gabi and Tiago are also the subjects of interest, with Marca citing El Confidencial as the source of the claim.

The pair had the chance to leave Atletico in January and would have trebled their wages, but chose to stay.

Gabi has a contract until 2017 and is likely to see it out at Atletico, but could end his career outside Spain.

Tiago, meanwhile, is recovering from a serious injury and it’ll be two months before he’s ready to play again, but as he is represented by Jorge Mendes, the Portuguese agent who has had a hand in most of the big-money moves to China in recent windows, he could move on in the summer when his contract ends.
