Newcastle United are reportedly close to signing Atletico Madrid left-back Guilherme Siqueira on loan, while Oliver Torres is going nowhere.
According to Sky Sports, the 29-year-old is set to join the Magpies until the end of the season as they seek competition for Paul Dummett, with Massadio Haidara nursing a long-term injury.
Siqueira joined Atleti from Benfica in the summer of 2014 as a replacement for Filipe Luis and firmly established himself as the club’s first choice in his position, but he has played just once in 2015-16 following the return of his countryman.
Marca, meanwhile, reports Oliver will be staying at Atleti after a round of talks with Los Colchoneros’ hierarchy on Friday.
The midfielder had been the subject of interest from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Benfica, but the newspaper claims both the player and his club agreed to prolong their link.
