Juanmi’s agent has confirmed talks with Real Sociedad but admits Southampton don’t want to let the striker leave.
Manuel Garcia Quilon has told Cadena SER that Juanmi is keen to return to Spain, six months after leaving Malaga, with a lack of playing time the problem.
“We’re working on it but for now there’s nothing, not yet,” Garcia Quilon said.
“We are negotiating, we’re trying to get out, but for now there’s nothing, make no mistake.
“[The problem isn’t La Real]. Of course not, that’s done. The problem is Southampton don’t want to let him go. That’s the problem. We’re working on it.”
It’s added that the Saints would want to recoup a large part of the €7m they paid Malaga for Juanmi if they were to sanction a move, and have just signed England international striker Charlie Austin.
