Inaki Williams has signed a new long-term contract at Athletic Bilbao, tying the forward to Los Leones until 2021.
The Basques confirmed the agreement on Thursday evening with a statement on their official website, and also revealed Williams’ release clause has been set at €50m.
Spain Under-21 international Williams has made almost 50 appearances for Athletic since his first team debut in December 2014, scoring 13 goals.
Born to a Ghanaian father and a Liberian mother, Williams came through the Athletic youth system, turning out for CD Basconia, Athletic’s farm team, in 2012-13.
Williams was promoted to the B team, Bilbao Athletic, in 2013, and made his debut with La Rojita in the March 2015 friendly against Norway.
