Beauvue wants Celta ‘family’

New Celta Vigo signing Claudio Beauvue says he’s been following Celta Vigo for a while and hopes to find a ‘family’ at Balaidos.

Beauvue has been signed from Lyon and was presented to the Press on Monday night, with Celta hoping he can be available to play Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday,

“I was following Celta a long time ago,” Beauvue told reporters, according to AS.

“I want to find a family at this club, as I had in my time at Guingamp, and some friends to help me continue to grow and play to help the club.

“My Lyon exit is already history. I prefer to focus on Celta. I hope and believe I will adapt quickly to the team.

“I just got here, so my objectives aren’t well defined, but I think Celta have to fight for fifth place and to play in Europe next season.”

Celta sporting director Miguel Torrecilla was present at the unveiling and explained why the club went after Beauvue.

“We were looking for a player able to play on the right wing, who was good in individual duals, who can provide goals and assists,” he revealed.

“Claudio will fulfil those expectations.”
