Setien: Barca in the final

Quique Setien wants to save a Copa del Rey tie against Barcelona until the final, preferring Segunda side Mirandes for Las Palmas.

Las Palmas eliminated Eibar over two legs and Setien spoke after the return in Gran Canaria, won 3-2 by his side for a 6-4 aggregate victory, about the future of the tournament.

“We would have chances [against a team like Mirandes] and it would be a knockout tie. I’d prefer Barcelona in the final, because I want to stay in the Cup,” AS reports Setien as saying.

“I appreciate the overall performance [of the second leg] and there are things we didn’t do so well, so we have to ask more mentally.

“But except for 10 minutes early in the second half, we were better and [Las Palmas going through] is fair.”
