Berizzo: No Cholo problem

Celta Vigo Coach Eduardo Berizzo denies an issue with Atletico Madrid counterpart Diego Simeone over the Augusto Fernandez transfer.

The trainers didn’t shake hands prior to the weekend League game between their teams, with it suggested in some quarters that Berizzo and Simeone fell out over Atletico’s successful pursuit of Augusto, who made the move from Balaidos to Vicente Calderon at the start of January.

“I didn’t say hello to Simeone because he left quickly. Believe me, there is no problem,” Berizzo insisted, AS reports, when asked.

Marca adds that Berizzo confirmed interest in Lyon striker Claudio Beauvue, and ordered has players not to relax in the Copa del Rey second leg against Cadiz despite a 3-0 first leg lead.

“[Beauvue] is one of our options. He’s a good player, very fast. But I want to keep names quiet because I mention them once and interest sores,” he lamented.

“We have a three-goal lead but that shouldn’t mean we relax. If you don’t prepare properly you can be surprised.

“We have to be demanding of ourselves and play our best football. This match is important for individuals to take their minutes and send us to the next round.

“My future? It’s impolite as Chile have a Coach and I have a job.”
