Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has put his success down to “dedication and hard work” after an eighth appearance on the FIFA Ballon d’Or podium for 2015.
The Portuguese has won the last two Ballon d’Ors and will look to make it three in a row on the back of best goalscoring season to date, having netted 61 times in 2014-15, despite Los Blancos failing to win any major trophies.
“It’s a special award. You work hard during the year to achieve great things, not just collective but individual things too,” he said at the Press talk ahead of Monday’s gala in Zurich.
“It’s a beautiful award and we are nominated again, it’s my eighth time that I'm here so it’s a great credit to be here one more year.
“It’s a unique trophy and it’s great. My favourite words are dedication and hard work.
“You have to be serious in your job, to be here for the eighth time is not by coincidence, we all have talent but the talent without the work is nothing. I love to play football and to beat records too.”
