Enrique named Coach of the Year

Barcelona’s Luis Enrique has been named the 2015 FIFA World Coach of the Year.

The 44-year-old pipped Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola and Chile’s Jorge Sampaoli to the chase after his five-trophy haul last year.

Enrique, a former Barca player, returned as Coach in the summer of 2014 and marked his debut season with an historic second treble.

He then concluded 2015 with the European Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

However, he was not present at Monday’s gala in Zurich, with Barca technical secretary Robert Fernandez collecting the award on the trainer’s behalf.
