Porto have sacked Coach Julen Lopetegui after a year-and-a-half in charge and could replace him with former Valencia boss Nuno Santo.
The former Spain Under-21 trainer has fallen victim to a poor run of results, which have left the Dragoes four points behind League leaders Sporting CP.
Lopetegui also failed to guide Porto into the Champions League knockout stages, having presided over a third-place finish in Group G.
Nuno is the favourite to succeed the ex-Barcelona goalkeeper, the Portuguese freshly unemployed after being dismissed by Valencia in December.
Former Malaga boss Jesualdo Ferreira, who led Porto to three Portuguese titles between 2006 and 2010, is also in the frame.
