Real Sociedad hope to take Jese on loan from Real Madrid, but the departure of Rafa Benitez complicates matters.

AS reports that it looked likely Jese would exit Santiago Bernabeu in January as he was out of favour under Benitez, who on Monday was sacked and replaced by Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane’s plans will take time to come out and it’s not known how he sees Jese, forcing La Real to wait for a decision as they look for a replacement for Chori Castro, who wants to leave.

Castro could go to Malaga, but Real Betis, Celta Vigo and Nacional, the Uruguay club at which he began his career, are all in the mix.

The Basques also want to replace Sergio Canales, who suffered a serious knee injury against Madrid and will miss the rest of the season.

La Real had been in contact with Jese to try and talk him into a temporary move to Anoeta and he was open to leaving Madrid for the rest of the season while Benitez was on the bench.

A formal approach was also made to Madrid for Jese, and if the club makes a decision to let Jese go until the summer, the parties can officially began talking.
