Sevilla are negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur over the return of defender Federico Fazio, Marca reports.
The Argentine defender has lost his place in the Spurs team to former Atletico Madrid man Toby Alderweireld this season, and the newspaper claims Los Nervionenses are keen on bringing him back after less than 18 months.
However, Sevilla are unwilling to make details of the move public, with Marca explaining how a deal was agreed between the two clubs in the summer, only for Tottenham to move the goalposts once West Brom came in with a better offer.
Fazio chose to reject the Baggies’ advances, leaving him in limbo for 2015-16, but Sevilla are willing to revive negotiations in the hope that the desire of all three parties for a resolution will result in a move being agreed.
The 28-year-old initially joined Sevilla from Ferrol in 2007 after a triumphant Under-20 World Cup with Argentina but did not become a regular performer until 2011.
