Pletikosa set to complete Depor move

Former Croatia goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa will complete his transfer to Deportivo La Coruna on Monday after landing in Spain over the weekend.

According to AS, the custodian, who will turn 37 in a fortnight, will undergo a medical in A Coruna on Monday, before putting pen to paper on a contract until the end of the season.

Pletikosa’s move was first reported a week ago, but he has since rescinded his link with Rostov, who he had played for since 2011.

He arrives as a replacement for Fabri, who has been ruled out for the entirety of this season with a serious knee injury, and will vie for Depor’s No 1 spot with German Lux.

Pletikosa boasts plenty of experience, having played for the likes of Hajduk Split, Spartak Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsk and Tottenham Hotspur and collected 114 caps for Croatia prior to his international retirement after the 2014 World Cup.
