Isco’s attitude ‘losing Benitez’s faith’

Rafa Benitez has reportedly lost faith in Isco after incidents of misbehaviour by the midfielder, including against Rayo Vallecano.

Isco wasn’t called onto the pitch in the 10-2 win over Rayo, the first time he has been in a match squad and not used, AS notes.

It’s suggested that Isco was ignored because one of Benitez’s assistants saw Isco laughing when Rayo took a 2-1 lead, and his non-involvement was a punishment.

Isco also annoyed Benitez when he appeared to show dissent at the presence of Toni Kroos on the bench against Villarreal, twice rubbing his eyes to feign surprise.

Lucas Vazquez, Mateo Kovacic and Alvaro Arbeloa were the three substitutes used by Benitez, AS adding that it was the introduction of Arbeloa for Gareth Bale that made clear Benitez’s unhappiness with Isco’s attitude.
