Andre Gomes has been touted as Pep Guardiola’s first signing should he take over as Coach of Premier League side Manchester City.
It has been confirmed that Guardiola is leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season, with former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti named as his successor.
Fichajes.net cites reports from Italian outlet Tuttosport that say Valencia’s Gomes could be added to the City ranks at the same time as Guardiola.
City and Napoli are said to be interested in the Portuguese, but Los Che are understood to be reluctant to sell.
Gomes’ season so far has been hit by injuries but the chance to return to the Champions League could be a factor, with Valencia out of this season’s competition and off the pace for a top four place in the current campaign.
