Chelsea winger Pedro could be set for a shock return to Spain after struggling to make an impact at Stamford Bridge this season.

Don Balon reports that Atletico Madrid are interested in bringing the former Barcelona man back to his native country after just five months in England, having scored only twice in 17 games in all competitions.

Pedro joined the Premier League giants from Barca for a reported €30m after seeing his chances of first team football at the Camp Nou become increasingly limited, with Atleti boss Diego Simeone understood to be an admirer of the 28-year-old Spain international.

Simeone is believed to be looking at increasing his firepower in attack with his side struggling to notch 22 goals in 15 La Liga games this term, despite sitting joint-leaders with Barcelona, and sees Pedro as the player to complement Antoine Griezmann, Jackson Martinez and Fernando Torres.
