The agent of Juande Ramos, Gines Carvajal, has reportedly been in London to speak with Chelsea, who on Thursday parted company with Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho’s exit was confirmed as the Premier League champions face a relegation battle, sitting one point outside the bottom three following Monday’s defeat to leaders Leicester City.
Ramos’ name was mentioned as a possible short-term appointment should Mourinho go and AS say Carvajal has met with the Blues regarding the ex-Sevilla trainer.
Guus Hiddink has however been floated as a possible interim hire, while Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is mooted as a long-term option to step in for Mourinho.
