Wass happy to play anywhere

Daniel Wass says he is happy to play anywhere for Celta Vigo after being pushed out to the right from his usual midfield position in recent games.

The Dane arrived in the summer as a direct replacement for countryman Michael Krohn-Dehli, but injuries to Andreu Fontas, Sergi Gomez and Nemanja Radoja, plus Jonny Castro’s suspension, mean he is set to continue down the right-hand side against Espanyol on Saturday.

“[Right-back] is a position that I don’t find strange at all because I played there for my previous team,” he told Marca.

“I’ve trained in that position for a few days, although if I could choose then I’d always feel most comfortable in midfield.

“Still, you have to adapt to the needs of the team and I have no problem playing where I’m needed the most.

“We’re having a very good season because we’ve almost always been in the top four and that’s enough of a reason to be happy.”
